6pm.com Sale Items & Site Review

Zappos rarely has stuff that's on sale sale. That's because the stuff that WOULD go on sale at Zappos actually ends up at 6pm.com.

A post on the Zappos CEO Blog notes that the "6pm.com is for customers that are looking for a large selection of products at deep discounts" whereas "Zappos.com is for customers that want the very best customer service and the very best selection."

The Marc by Marc Jacobs Core Fabric Faridah in Natural Linen and Printed Canvas is currently only $170.20, which is 49% off retail. I'd jump at this bag if only it had a zipper close instead of a snap.

One of the best pumps I own, the Steve Madden Excitte Pumps are now only $36.80 (50% off). They are so comfortable, true to size, offer some toe cleavage, and are the perfect heel height. Still available in Black Patent, Brown Suede, Grey Leather (shown), and Red Leather.

The frustrating part about 6pm.com is that the testimonials found on Zappos are removed (they do leave the "Fit Survey," however). Also, there seems to be a few bugs on the 6pm.com site. When I went to browse "Brands" to look at everything on sale for MbMJ, but couldn't get there because the site told me it produced no search results. At least typing into the search box works. I also found

All in all, 6pm.com is a nice place to find some great deals, but with a few too many sacrifices from the customer. Just because customers want a great deal, doesn't mean they shouldn't also get reviews and a site that actually works probably. A well-functioning site is to be expected of an online retailer and reviews? Well, those don't cost anything. Easy improvements for 6pm.com to make and hopefully we'll see that in the future.

When paired with skirts or dresses, nude pumps or sandals can make your legs look miles long making them wonderful wardrobe staples (which is why all of the shoes shown here are clean, basic pumps or sandals).

It can be very frustrating to find the right pair of flesh-tone shoes and while we've tried to include some variation in color and while these may not include your ideal color/silhouette, hopefully this is a good starting point.

To aid you in your nude pump search, here are some of the colors to search for: beige, brown, ivory, natural, neutral, nude, sand, tan, taupe.

The good thing about shopping on the Internet is that you can search a lot of sites quickly which is way easier than running to all the shoe stores in your neighborhood and asking for nude pumps.

Funky Peep Toes

These are shoes that not everybody will like, but I think they're fantastic!

These Bardot C Peep Toe Pumps are so different with it's laser-cut details and jagged sides - very edgy. Comes in black, bone, green, and turquoise.

Pretty Peep Toes for Spring

iconiconSpring is here! Time to take your feet out of their winter boot prisons and prepare them to be shown off.

For a simple, elegant option that can go to work (if your office allows), try the Pazzo Patter at left. A lovely suede peep toe pump with a stacked heel, instep cutout, and a button to finish.

If you're looking for something more for fun, check out the Guess by Marciano Savor. The cutout wedge heel, patent leather, and metallic edging make this one outstanding shoe and perfect for a night out.

MICHAEL Michael Kors Pumps

These MICHAEL Michael Kors Leather & Faux Croc Pumps are an unexpected olive green (a "pseudo-neutral" that goes with most colors).

The faux crocodile platform is also a pleasant and surprising detail.

Get them right now since they're 60% off ($55.60, down from $139.00).

Sexy Giraffe Print Pumps

Animal prints are awesome since they come in neutral, earthy tones, but leopard isn't so exciting or different any more. Giraffe is fresh and unique right now, plus it looks so darn good - patches of brown on tan is a great combo that goes with almost any outfit.

These Guess Brittan Pumps in Tan & Brown Giraffe Print look very similar to the Guess Brittania Pumps in Oat Patent that showed up a few weeks ago in this post (asides from the obvious print difference, of course).

It seems so hard to find a pair of great nude pumps or giraffe print pumps, but Guess has delivered on both.

The shoe itself is stunning, but not too practical - it's no easy feat to walk in a 4.5 heel with a platform. If you have the talent required to wear these, definitely snap them up.

My Attempt @ Re-Creating an Outfit

I'm usually not inspired by what celebrities are wearing, but when I saw part of an interview with Katie Holmes on Good Morning America (which I actually saw on "The Soup"), I actually paused to check out Katie Holmes' simple, yet gorgeous outfit.

What made me do a double take were her gorgeous nude pumps.

I've been hunting for nude pumps for aaages and her shoes got me DETERMINED to find my nude pumps (it's not an easy job to find shoes to match your skin tone!).

I prefer nude pumps that are patent leather. I'm not sure why, but they definitely give the nude shoe a little more pizazz.

At left is the Guess Brittania Pump in Oat Patent. Not my kinda shoe because I cannot walk in platforms, but they're hot nonetheless.

When I saw the Steven by Steve Madden Eloppe in Camel Patent, I knew I had to have them (despite their final sale status) and luckily they turned out to be awesome. It's still available in a few sizes, but probably not for long.

As for the dress, the Old Navy Women's Cap-Sleeve Wrap Dresses at left would be absolutely great to re-create the look.

Another option is the Banana Republic Buckle Dress which also has a similar feel to Katie Holmes' dress.

Alright, I think I have discussed Katie Holmes enough for 2008. The only thing left to do is wear her outfit!

Botanical Peep Toe Pumps

These Printed Peep-Toe Mary Janes are precious!

The lovely print (which contains my new fave color combo of green & yellow) just makes these pumps pop.

These are definitely head turners (and for good reason).

More Shoes - Inappropriate for Winter

These Lickerish Patent Wedges are amazing!

I just love the architecturally cutout wedge. So hot.

And not expensive at all.

Yum.

Print Shoes

My love for prints has spread to shoes!

Starting from the left...

The floral print on the "Fuss" Pump from Exchange by Charles David is so cute. Not sure how I feel about the heel though (I'm a skinny heel type).

I have always been a fan of animal prints and by far, my favorite is definitely giraffe. These shoes are no exception...I just love these Giraffe Print Platform Pumps!!

Polka dots and black/white combos are both going to be big this spring and these dotty Nomad Phyllis Black Canvas Flats will be perfect for the upcoming spring season.

These St. Tropez Cotton Slides are also great. My J.Crew catalog has this print with yellow and white and those are very eye catching. It's a shame I couldn't find a pic of those!
