Gap Gripes

Gap Hip Slung Railroad Stripe Easy Flare PantsGap Hip Slung Railroad Stripe Easy Flare Pants Rear ViewI was checking out the new arrivals on Gap.com when I noticed these cute Hip Slung Railroad Stripe Easy Flare Pants (which is a bit of a mouthful as product names go, but whatever).

Flare pants are cute/flattering and what not, but what is up with the butt? Why is there a "mini-coin welt pocket" right there? First, I don't want my coins to create coin-shaped indentations in my butt and second, it looks like a mouth...on the person's butt. Plus, who wants people looking at their rear and wondering "What is that???"

Gap Return by Mail OnlyBut even if I were considering the purchase of these pants, I would not be able to return them to a store. What is annoying about this is that I enjoy shopping at sites with brick & mortar stores because if I'm unsure about sizes, I purchase 2 (or more) and then return the one(s) that don't fit to the store which saves me the cost and hassle of returning by mail. I understand that Gap Inc. doesn't want to deal with having random online exclusives ending up in the store and maybe the cost of having stores ship stuff back to the warehouse means that they'd rather pass that cost onto the consumer.

Whatever the case may be, this is all pretty unfortunate. The pants AND the new reason for me not to buy certain items from Gap.com.
