Most of my bags have rolled straps or a thin flat strap and without a jacket or coat, I've noticed that they start cutting into my shoulder and become outrageously uncomfortable when I'm carrying them for long periods of time (especially when wearing tanks/tees).

Bags that have a thicker and softer strap distribute the weight better and are much better for carrying oodles of stuff.
